SLEEPMUSIC Study - Registration

We are a group of researchers working at the Institute for Parallel and Distributed Systems (IPVS), at the University of Stuttgart.
With the SLEEPMUSIC project we aim to research the effect of music on sleep and model individual musical preferences during sleep.

Short description

The study is a three-week home study.
Each night, sleep activity and response to musical stimuli (sleep music tracks) will be measured using a lightweight electroencephalography (EEG) device. For comparison purposes, on some nights sleep will be measured without musical stimuli. The music is played back via a headband so that it will not be heard or disturb others. You will also be asked to complete surveys on topics such as your sleep habits and past experiences with music.

All the necessary devices for taking part in the study will be provided and shipped to participants free of charge.
